JOSHUA PIETRAS

Before joining the bar, Joshua had over 10 years’ experience in private practice. During his time at

both medium and large sized firms, Joshua has advised and represented clients in a full spectrum of

disputes, including trust and estates, relationship property, insolvency, insurance and land disputes.

Joshua has a special focus on trust, estate and relationship property litigation. He currently sit on the

Lawyer for Subject Person panel, as established by the Protection of Personal and Property Rights

Act 1988 for all courts in the Wellington region. He has appeared as lead counsel in the District Court,

High Court and Court of Appeal, as well as other specialist tribunals.

Joshua is a member of the NZLS Trusts and Estates Committee and the New Zealand Fiji Business

Council.  He is an author for LexisNexis and has presented seminars for the New Zealand Law

Society.

Joshua has a Master of Law (International Law) from the Australian National University, and is well

equipped to advise clients on disputes with a cross-border element. He is also admitted as a barrister

and solicitor in Fiji and Tuvalu, and is available to accept instructions throughout the Pacific.
